Lieutenant Colonel Brian Proctor (left), Lt. Gen. Mark A. Brilakis, Johnny C. Taylor Jr., and Sgt. Maj. Samuel Heyward Jr. meet during the 2015 Thurgood Marshall College Fund 27th annual Awards Gala in Washington D.C., Nov. 16. The ceremony is the culminating event of the TMCF Leadership Institute, a three day conference and career day for Historically Black Colleges and University students held in honor of civil rights activist Thurgood Marshall. Proctor currently serves as the Officer in Charge of Diversity with Marine Corps Recruiting Command aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va. Brilakis currently serves as the Commanding General of MCRC. Taylor is the President and CEO of the TMCF. Heyward serves as the Sergeant Major of MCRC.
