SACRAMENTO – A 100-year-old Marine, Michael Kolesar, meets Gunnery Sgt. Gerardo Ortiz, recruiting staff noncommissioned officer in charge, Marine Recruiting Station Sacramento, at the Eskaton Care Center in Greenhaven, Aug. 21. Marines met with Michael to take photos as part of the care center’s efforts to recognize centenarians. Michael fought during the famous battle of Guadalcanal.
