SAN DIEGO -- U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Allen Lee, supply chief, 12th Marine Corps District, leads Marines of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in a parade during the centennial celebration of Balboa Park, May 9. The parade took place in the park and culminated with a recreation of a photo taken 100 years ago of Marines crossing the Cabrillo Bridge during the Panama-California Exposition in 1915. The 1915 exposition drew millions of spectators to Balboa Park and put San Diego on the world map. The Marines were taking part in the centennial celebration event called "The Garden Party of the Century", which was a free, day-long event that also included garden tours, music, art and family activities.
