DESOTO, Texas - Capt. Yonic Medina presents a certificate awarding his stepbrother, George Rivera the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarship for RS Dallas at Desoto High School May 11. Selected applicants for the NROTC Scholarship Program are awarded scholarships through a highly competitive national selection process, and receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits at many of the country's leading colleges and universities. Medina is the executive officer of Recruiting Station San Antonio, 8th Marine Corps District, and Rivera is a high school track and field athlete, slated to attend the University of Houston in the fall.
