WASHINGTON, DC – General John M. Paxton Jr., Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, poses with Lt. Col. David Rodgers, reserve support officer, Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC), at the 9th annual Stars and Stripes Dinner during the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) conference here, Feb. 7. The dinner is held at BEYA to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by providing STEM leaders the opportunity to mentor youth in STEM and highlighting the contributions of black Americans in support of the nation and its military.
