A color guard from 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment from Garden City, N.Y., presents the colors in front of more than 500 runners as Diane Fenton, mother of Sgt. Matthew Fenton, stands behind them. The town held the first Sgt. Matthew Fenton Memorial 5K Race on June 5 to honor Fenton, who died from injuries sustained while conducting combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006.
