Lance Cpl. Townsend Milligan (center), quality control monitor and youngest Marine present, takes a bite of cake given to him by Col. Mark Callihan, chief of staff, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region and oldest Marine present. Brig. Gen. Angie Salinas (right), commanding general, MCRD San Diego and the WRR, passed the piece of birthday cake to Callihan, who passed it to Milligan in accordance with Marine Corps birthday tradition.
