Brig. Gen. John M. Paxton Jr., commanding general, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region, visits with retired Lt. Gen. Victor H. Krulak in his back yard April 1. Lt. Gen. Krulak fought in World War II as a lieutenant, and he received the Legion of Merit with a combat distinguishing device and the Bronze Star for his heroic actions on Okinawa, Japan. The Okinawa campaign took place from April to June 1945 and was the largest sea, land and air battle in history at the time. Paxton invited Lt. Gen.
