FORT BELVOIR, Va. – Gunnery Sgt. Tawanda Hanible, Diversity Operations Chief, Office of Diversity, Marine Corps Recruiting Command, receives the C. Haskell Small Award for volunteerism, during the USO of Metropolitan Washington Annual Celebration of Volunteers at the officer’s club, here, Saturday. Presenting the award is Army Col. Charles Callahan, Commander, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Hanible, a Chicago native, is the founder and chief executive officer of Operation Heroes Connect, a non-profit organization that provides at risk youth with positive role models through volunteer service members and veterans. Also pictured is Col. Robert G. Golden III, chief of staff, MCRC.
