U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Carlos A. Ruiz, the 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, participates in a field meet hosted by Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dec. 12, 2025. Ruiz attended and participated in the field meet, which included recruiters, recruiting station staff, drill instructors, and future Marine poolees, in order to observe training and strengthen esprit de corps.
