Major Stephanie L. Damren
Commanding Officer, Recruiters School

Major Damren commissioned in April 2012 through the Platoon Leaders Class program at Florida State University. Following The Basic School, she attended the Combat Engineer Officer Instruction Course in Camp Lejeune, NC. In August 2013, Second Lieutenant Damren was assigned as Platoon Commander, Motor Transport Platoon, Landing Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 27 aboard Camp Lejeune.

In June 2014, First Lieutenant Damren was assigned as the Engineer Platoon Commander for the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force (GCEITF), 2nd Marine Division — the Marine Corps’ effort to gather empirical data on the role of women in Marine Corps ground combat arms military occupational specialties. Her platoon trained to, and were assessed in Division specific Combat Engineer Training and Readiness tasks throughout a rigorous pre-assessment and three-month long Combat Engineer Assessment aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, C.A. and Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, C.A.

In July 2015, First Lieutenant Damren was assigned as the Future Operations Officer and Training Officer for Combat Logistics Battalion 26 (CLB-26). In October 2016, First Lieutenant Damren deployed as the Assistant Operations Officer and Female Engagement Team (FET) Team Leader with CLB-26 aboard the USS Kearsarge in support of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

In July 2016, First Lieutenant Damren reported to Officer Candidates School as an academics instructor and evaluator. Captain Damren also served as a Platoon Commander for 1st Platoon, Charlie Company for OCC-225, a Platoon Commander for 1st Platoon, Delta Company for OCC-226, as well as the school’s Scheduling Officer.

In August 2018, Captain Damren reported to 8th Engineer Support Battalion where she served in several different billets including the Battalion Logistics Officer, Bridge Company Commander, and Engineer Support Company Commander.

In May 2022, Major Damren completed resident Expeditionary Warfare School and was assigned as the Marine Aide-de-Camp for General David Berger, 38th Commandant of the Marine Corps, until July 2023.
