Nethercot stand at attention as the graduates of Officer Candidate Class 222 render honors to Neller during an Officer Candidates School graduation ceremony aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Aug. 6, 2016. Candidates who graduated with OCC-222 were apart of the largest OCS graduating class since 2009. Nethercot is the commanding officer of OCS. Second Lieutenant David Higgins shoots his rifle in the World Championships in Granada, Spain, in September 2014. Higgins attended the United States Air Force Academy, and then decided to cross-commission into the United States Marine Corps. Patrick Poorbaugh is pinned to his new rank of second lieutenant by his mother, Kim Grierson, during a commissioning ceremony at the Low Memorial Library Rotunda, Columbia University, New York City, May, 21. Poorbaugh became the first Marine in 40 years to commission from the school. Poorbaugh is a Mackinaw, Ill., native, and graduated with a degree in Political Science from the College of General Studies. - 2nd Lt.
