The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) partners with organizations like CIAA to improve diversity representation within the Marine Corp’s leadership ranks and to re-invigorate connectedness with the American people. The CIAA annual basketball tournament is one of the nation’s premier sporting events, attracting over 190,000 fans over the course of the week. Fortner is the Marine Corps Systems Command sergeant major. Travis is the vice president of student affairs at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.
