Marc Malone and Angie Davis speak with a Marine during a welcome address at the Holiday Inn Express in Dumfries, Va., June 20 as part of the 2016 Key Leaders and Educators Workshop. Marines welcomed approximately 40 educators from states west of the Mississippi River and explained what they should expect during the workshop. Until the workshop ends June 24, educators will experience a flight in an MV-22 Osprey, infantry patrolling and many other events to experience firsthand what goes into making Marine officers. The workshop creates a mutually beneficial and meaningful relationship between educators and the Marine Corps where key leaders and educators can share knowledge about the Corps to students interested in Marine officer programs. Malone is an academic advisor for Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Davis is a skating instructor for University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
