Major Lance C. Day
Maj. Lance C. Day was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2000. Upon graduating, he attended The Basic School and Infantry Officers Course.
From 2001 to 2004 Maj. Day was assigned to L Co., 3rd Bn, 5th Marine Regiment where he served as a rifle platoon commander, weapons platoon commander and company executive officer. In 2002 he deployed with the 31st MEU and in 2003 he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2004, Maj. Day transferred to Marine Corps Security Force Company Europe in Rota, Spain. There he served as a platoon commander and participated in various missions aboard 6th Fleet naval installations as well as shipboard security off the coast of Africa.
In 2006, Maj. Day was selected as an Individual Augment to C Co., 1st Bn 24th Marine Regiment. Here he served as the executive officer and deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of OIF.
From 2007 to 2008, Maj. Day attended the Expeditionary Warfare School at Quantico, Virginia. Shortly thereafter, he was assigned to Officer Candidate School where served as an academics instructor.
Later in 2008, Maj. Day was assigned to 1st Bn, 5th Marine Regiment. In 2009, he deployed to Nawa, Afghanistan as the A Co. Commander. After returning to the U.S., he assumed command of H&S Co. In 2010, he was assigned to the billet of Advisor Team Leader to an Afghan Army Battalion. In 2011 he deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
