MSgt William C. Marone retired after 24 years of faithful dedicated service to the Marine Corps. Marone, an Oregon native, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1990. After serving on active duty, and some time in the ready reserves, Marone went on Recruiting Duty in 1999 and has served in many billets on recruiting duty with honorable and faithful service for almost 15 years. These teachers, coaches and counselors got to experience some of the physical challenges of Marine Corps basic training and talk to Marines operating in their occupational specialty. The educators saw many of the installation's services provided to the Marines including the Education Center, Moral Welfare Recreation Center and Chow Hall.

Pfc. Thomas S. Breiter, Platoon 1073, Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, awaits improvised explosive device training alongside fellow Marines during the crucible at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., June 12. Breiter chose to enlist into the Marines as military police, the same military occupational specialty as his mother. Breiter explained his choice to choose the Marine Corps over other military branches was highly influenced by his mother and father's service in the Corps.
