SgtMaj David G. Eldridge attended Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina in May 1994.  Upon completion of recruit training, he attended MCT at Camp Geiger, North Carolina and Field Radio Operators Course in 29 Palms, California. He was initially assigned to 2nd Battalion 10th Marines at Camp Lejeune, NC as a field radio operator and was transferred to 2nd Battalion 6th Marines. During this period, he participated with BLT 2/6, 26th MEU in Operations Provide Promise, Joint Endeavor and Deny Flight in Bosnia. In March 1996, he was reassigned to Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion 10th Marines.

 In January 1998, Sgt Eldridge reported to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion in Norfolk, Virginia for duty with 1st FAST Co, where he served as a platoon RTO and Company Radio Chief. During this time period, he participated in multiple operations, including Southern Watch. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on 01 March 2000, and received orders to 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion, for duty as the Radio Chief for Bravo Company. From March until June 2000, he attended the Communications Systems Chief Course in 29 Palms, CA. In January 2003, he was assigned to 1st Battalion 7th Marines and participated in the initial invasion of Iraq and Operation Iraqi Freedom I.

 SSgt Eldridge received orders to Drill Instructor duty at MCRD Parris Island, SC and attended Drill Instructor School in January 2004. He was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on 01 Feb 2004. Upon completion of school, he was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion. There he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Series GySgt and Company 1stSgt. He was then selected to be an instructor at the Drill Instructor School, where he taught the Uniforms and Basic Warrior Training packages. In September 2006, he was reassigned to India Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion where he served as a Series GySgt until the completion of his tour.

 In March 2007, he reported to 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines for duty as the Battalion Radio Chief and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. He was promoted to First Sergeant on 01 July 2008 and assumed duties as the Company 1stSgt for Lima Company, 3d Battalion 2nd Marines. Deploying as BLT 3/2, 22d MEU from May to December 2009, during this time the unit participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. From April 2010 to March 2013, he served as Inspector & Instructor 1stSgt of Charlie Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion. He was frocked to Sergeant Major on 1 March 2013 and from April 2013 to February 2015, he served as the Squadron SgtMaj for Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. He currently serves and the Recruiting Station SgtMaj for MCRS Richmond, Virginia.

 He holds a B.S. Degree in Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University.  SgtMaj Eldridge and his wife have two (2) children. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation w/ 3 Gold Stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
