Major Andrew E. Terrell
Major Andrew E. Terrell graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May 2002. He was designated as an Infantry Officer and completed training in March 2003.
Major Terrell joined 1st Battalion, 5th Marines where he deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
Major Terrell commanded Headquarters and Service Company from May 2005 to February 2006.
Major Terrell was selected for the British Royal Marine Commando exchange program and spent two years with 40 Commando Royal Marines
in Taunton, England. During this time he completed the All Arms Commando Course, deployed in support of two NATO exercises, and deployed
to Operation Herrick 7 in Afghanistan.
On completion of Expeditionary Warfare School in 2009, Major Terrell took command of Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines. He led his
company for two deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2012 Major Terrell joined 4th Reconnaissance Battalion in San Antonio, TX where he served as the Charlie Company Inspector Instructor and
the Battalion Operations Officer.
Major Terrell was assigned to Recruiting Station Detroit in June of 2015 to serve as the Commanding Officer.
Major Terrell’s personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal with combat distinguishing device and two gold stars in lieu of 2nd and 3rd
awards, the Purple Heart Medal, and the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat distinguishing device.
Major Terrell is married to Amy Terrell. They have two sons: Luke and Nate.
