SSgt Daniel F Ahmed was born in Calcutta, India on February 1, 1982. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 18, 2002. SSgt Ahmed graduated from Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC, on February 14, 2003. He attended his MOS school at Camp Johnson, NC, and designated as a 0151.
Upon completion of school in May 2003, he was transferred to III MHG, Okinawa, Japan where he served as an Administrative Chief until May 2004. While at III MHG, SSgt Ahmed was promoted to the rank of LCpl. He then received orders to MWHS-3, 3D MAW where he served as Admin Clerk, Casualty Chief and also served as member of the Commanding General’s PSD team. While at MWHS-3, 3D MAW, SSgt Ahmed was promoted to the rank of Cpl. He then received orders to 1st Marine Corps District, Garden City, NY where he served as Awards Chief. While at 1st Marine Corps District SSgt Ahmed was promoted to the rank of Sgt. He then received orders to 5th Battalion, 10th Marines where he served as Administrative Chief. While at this command, he effectively deactivated the unit and then went on to serve as the Adjutant of SCTF, APS-12 that deployed to both the EUCOM and AFRICOM areas of operation. While deployed, he also served as the Martial Arts Instructor for the unit and helped cross training with foreign military personnel. While at 10th Marines, SSgt Ahmed was promoted to his current rank. He then received orders to Recruiting School in San Diego, CA class of BRC 3-13 where he received follow on orders to Recruiting Station New York. Upon checking into Recruiting Station New York, SSgt Ahmed was assigned to RSS Ridgewood as a canvassing Recruiter.
SSgt Ahmed is currently assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting Station New York as a SNCOIC at Recruiting Substation Lindenhurst.
SSgt Ahmed’s personal awards include a Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal third award and Good Conduct Medal third award.
