SSgt Luis O Parreno was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on May 1986.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August, 2004.  SSgt Parreno graduated from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island South Carolina, on September 23, 2005.  He attended his MOS school at Ft. Leonard wood Missouri, and designated as a 3531.

Upon completion of school in December 2005, he was transferred to 6th Communications Battalion, where he served the billet of Motor Transport Operator until June 2009 as Selected Marine Corps Reservist.  He attended John Jay College and went on several ADOS orders. He then received orders to RS New York where he served as Extended Active Duty (EAD) Canvassing Recruiter for RSS East New York. While at RS New York, Cpl Parreno was promoted to the rank of Sgt in July 2010. In June 2012 Sgt Parreno was moved to RSS Staten Island to serve as the Staff noncommissioned officer in charge of that station, where he was later promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2013. In October 2013 he was transferred to RSS Ridgewood to take over as a SNCOIC.

SSgt Parreno is currently assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting Station New York as a Station Commander at Recruiting Substation Ridgewood.
