Marine Corps transforms young men and women into Marines. It also provides attendees with current information regarding Marine Corps training
practices, military job skills, service opportunities, military lifestyle, and educational benefits available to Marines. The program is designed to demystify
recruit and officer candidate training, foster stronger relationships among recruiting personnel and the communities they serve, and increase advocacy
among influencers who help shape decisions of young men and women.
Officer Selection Officer Educator’s Workshop
Annually, educators and key influencers from colleges and universities across the United States gather for five days to attend Marine Corps
Recruiting Command’s OSO Educator’s Workshop at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. During the workshop, participants visit
Officer Candidates School and The Basic School to discover the leadership traits and career opportunities the Marine Corps offers, specifically for
officer commissioning programs. The workshop provides an inside look at the Marine officer lifestyle and exhibits the types of training Marine
officer prospects undergo to escalate physical, moral, and intellectual capabilities in order to benefit Marines in any clime and place.
