Poolees from Recruiting Station Phoenix perform the pull-up portion of the initial strength test during the RS's annual pool function, Mar. 2. Recruiters and officer selection officers have been provided training equipment and the Female Poolee PFT Prep Program in order to increase the upper body strength of female poolees and officer candidates ahead of changes to the female Physical Fitness Test (PFT). On Jan. 1, 2014, female Marines, recruits and officer candidates will perform dead-hang pull-ups instead of the current flexed arm-hang on their PFT. (US Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Tyler J. Bolken)
