MCRC Gets Wired for Success

By Marine Corps Recruiting Command | Marine Corps Recruiting Command | June 15, 2002

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. -- The Marine Corps Recruiting Command recently launched an update to its command website that gives a fresh look to the Marine Corps' most visible command. The website showcases the extraordinary achievements of Marines working on recruiting duty and highlights the benefits of joining the MCRC team.

"We definitely need to educate Marines about recruiting duty and dispel the myths," said Master Gunnery Sergeant Preston Ford, the career recruiter monitor. "Our goal is to get more volunteers for recruiting duty and this website will help."

The website features news and profiles of Marines currently on recruiting duty and distinguished active duty and former Marines.

"Marines can go on the site and see how others just like them have succeeded and thrived on recruiting," said Ford. "They can see that these Marines were given the tools that set them up for future success."

The website is also a wealth of information for Marines interested in becoming recruiters. By clicking on the "Join the Team" link, Marines can learn the benefits of recruiting duty. Prospective recruiters can also find contact information for recruiting stations around the country and direct links to Marines with answers to their recruiting related questions.

Ford, who answers questions on recruiting for the website, feels now is the best time for Marines to get out there and sell the Marine Corps. "We are looking for Marines who want to be on recruiting duty and reap the benefits."

Benefits such as rapid promotion, duty station preference and the highest special duty pay for any service member.

The Marine Corps Recruiting Command website is available for all Marines to view by going to https://www.mcrc.usmc.mil
