AMC announces senior officer retirements, assignments

Officials at Air Mobility Command have announced the following senior officer retirements and assignments:

Retirements:

Col. Roy J. Hobbs, chief, Medical Support Division, Office of the Command Surgeon, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will retire Oct. 1.

Col. Frank Laras, vice commander, 43rd Airlift Wing, Pope AFB, N.C., will retire Oct. 1.

Col. Robert J. Settle II, assistant director of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will retire Sept. 1.

Assignments:

Col. William J. Changose, commander, 43rd Operations Group, Pope AFB, will replace Colonel Laras, effective August.

Col. Gerald E. Szpila, deputy commander, 3rd OG, Elmendorf AFB, Ak., will replace Colonel Changose, effective July.

Col. Scott J. McMullen, chief, Strategic Plans and Policy Division, Directorate of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will replace Colonel Settle, effective June.

Lt. Col. Stephen J. Griffin, deputy chief, Strategic Plans and Policy Division, Directorate of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will replace Colonel McMullen, effective June. Colonel Griffin has been selected for promotion.

Col. Christopher J. Krisinger, chief, Doctrine and Policy Division, Directorate of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will become Special Assistant to the Director of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, with duties at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., effective July.

Lt. Col. Michael A. Fernandez, deputy chief, Studies and Analysis Division, Directorate of Plans and Programs, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will replace Colonel Krisinger, effective July. Colonel Fernandez has been selected for promotion.

Lt. Col. Jeffrey L. Derrick, chief, Strategic Initiatives Branch, Headquarters U.S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB, will become Chief, Air Transportation Division, Directorate of Logistics, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, effective July. Colonel Derrick has been selected for promotion.

Col. Gregory W. Coker, commander, 43rd Mission Support Group, Pope AFB, will become Professor of Aerospace Studies, AFROTC Detachment 10, University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala. effective July.

Col. Eric J. Wilbur, director, Contract Management Office, U.S. Central Air Forces, will replace Colonel Coker, effective July.

Col. Leonard A. Patrick, commander, 60th MSG, Travis AFB, Calif., will become Special Assistant to the Vice Commander, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph AFB, Texas, effective August.

Col. Tracy A. Hardwick, deputy commander, 60th MSG, Travis AFB, will replace Colonel Patrick, effective August.

Lt. Col. Jon A. Roop, chief, Contingency Branch, Headquarters European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany, will replace Colonel Hardwick, effective July. Colonel Roop has been selected for promotion.

Col. James C. Harper, deputy director of Security Forces, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will become Chief of Force Protection and Operations, Directorate of Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., effective July.

Col. Steven E. Ross, commander, 99th Security Forces Group, Nellis AFB, Nev., will replace Colonel Harper, effective August.

Lt. Col. Robert L. Fant, commander, 12th Civil Engineering Squadron, Randolph AFB, will become Deputy Commander, 437th MSG, Charleston AFB, S.C., effective June. Colonel Fant has been selected for promotion.

Col. William H. Martin Jr., chief, Environmental Programs, Directorate of Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters AMC, Scott AFB, will become Commander, 374th MSG, Yokota Air Base, Japan, effective June.

Lt. Col. Keith F. Yaktus, chief, Programs Division, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB, Ga., will replace Colonel Martin, effective June. Colonel Yaktus has been selected for promotion.

Col. Roger S. Goetz, deputy commander, 56th Medical Group, Luke AFB, Az., will replace Colonel Hobbs, effective June.

Col. Keiko L. Torgersen, commander, 319th MDG, Grand Forks AFB, N.D., will become Chief Nurse, 60th MDG, Travis AFB, effective August.

Col. Robert G. Quinn, chief, Medical Support Division, Office of the Command Surgeon, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein AB, Germany, will replace Colonel Torgersen, effective July.

Col. John T. Cinco, chief, Flight Medicine, 43rd Medical Operations Squadron, Pope AFB, will become Deputy Commander, 4th MDG, Seymour-Johnson AFB, N.C., effective June.
