MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. -- The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) is pleased to announce the date and location of the 2014 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. This nationally televised bowl, featuring the nation’s best and brightest high school football players, will take place in Carson, Calif., at 5:00 p.m. (PST) on Jan. 5, 2014.

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl demonstrates the Marine Corps’ commitment to developing quality citizens and reinforces its core values of honor, courage and commitment.

“The Semper Fidelis Football Program provides Marines with the opportunity to engage America’s youth and influencers,” said Colonel Robert G. Golden III, Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Recruiting Command. “This Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl will bring together some of the most talented high school football players our nation has to offer. These players possess the character, academic excellence and leadership ability to represent the world’s finest – the United States Marines.”

The Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl is unique because it brings together 90 student-athletes from across the country who have demonstrated success both on and off the gridiron. Semper Fidelis All-American’s are selected for being among the top-rated high school football players in the nation; however, the selection process is also dedicated to choosing players based on their character, academic performance and leadership.

Player nominations can now be submitted at http://semperfidelisfootball.com/player-selection.

Leading up to the 3rd annual nationally televised Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, players will be hand-picked and recognized during the All-American player selection tour. Players will be announced between June and December.

I had the opportunity to work for the Marine Corps Recruiting Command and the Game Management of Intersport-Chicago. It was a fantastic opportunity for the student athletes to work in a disciplined, Marine Corps environment as well as the fun factor. Being an Air Force "Brat", I was taught military discipline at home and used this learning experience to become the best that I could be!This is the All American Bowl, second to none! Semper Fi
