New Incentives Announced for Recruiting Duty Volunteers

Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) launched a Recruit the Recruiter campaign earlier this month. The campaign provides increased incentives for Marines volunteering for recruiting duty and has the potential to significantly impact the future readiness of the Corps. There are several benefits and incentives for Marines who volunteer to serve on recruiting duty. Details surrounding one of the most sought after incentives was announced by the Marine Corps in MARADMIN 350/21 on July 8, 2021. This incentive allows volunteers to choose their preferred RS location as long as they complete their request within the volunteering window that started July 7, 2021 and ends Dec. 31, 2021.

The thing about the Marine Corps is that Marines are constantly moving from one duty station to the next. Their time in one location is not long, but the impact they can make is lifelong. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Orange County was given the opportunity to help our local communities' effort in their annual Winter Toy Drive 2020. Purist, a unique collection of good people who share common passion in cars, motorcycles and the finer things in life, along with California Love Drop, an organization made up of local organizations and businesses trying to make a difference, co-hosted Purist’s eighth annual Winter Toy Drive.

The year 2020 has shown everyone that life’s circumstances are unpredictable and that if there was ever a time to help your neighbor, this is the year to do it. It has been said many times but can never be said enough, the Marine Corps is more than an elite force. Marines’ efforts stretch further than the frontlines. The United States Marine Corps is about providing for the Nation and that includes serving our local communities.

Answering the Call

FRESNO, Calif – Becoming a United States Marine is a process requiring devotion to bettering yourself and the community. For many, the enlistment process involves entering the Delayed Entry Program where one can spend up to a year waiting for their “ship date” to recruit training. Recruiters use this time to prepare them both physically and mentally for the rigors of recruit training. For the Marines of Recruiting Substation (RSS) Fresno, Calif., becoming a Marine includes service to your community. Because of this the Marines and their members of the Delayed Entry Program spent their Saturday morning volunteering at a local homeless shelter on January 11, 2020.
