Recruiting Station Charleston, based in Ona, W.V. covers 48,000-square miles and reaches five states: Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee. The station is comprised of 13 substations, one officer selection station, and two Military Entrance Processing Stations.
R.S. Charleston was located in Charleston at the G.C. Building from 1984 to 1999. From 2000 to 2010, it was located in Teays Valley, W.Va. The station moved to its current facility in Ona March 2010. The building is located near the Huntington Mall exit off Interstate 64, going East on Route 60. The new facility was built to specifically meet the needs of the R.S. It includes a training room that accommodates the support staff and recruiters from the station’s area of responsibility. The staff of 16 supports more than 90 recruiters.
