Administration Section

The primary mission of the Administration Branch is to administratively support the eight recruiting stations and perform those general and personnel administration and office management functions inherent in the responsibilities assigned by the commanding officer or executive officer.

Base Operations

The Base Operations branch serves as the facility construction representative and maintenance staff for the entire facility.  The facility is utilized by 4 tenant commands comprised of approximately 350 military and government service employees.  There are also 400 Marine Corps reservists who utilize the facility on drill weekends.  This Base Operations branch is also responsible for staff planning, budget programs for the operation, maintenance and repair of 7 buildings and 6.7 acres of land and parking facilities.  The 1st Marine Corps District Headquarters is the largest U. S. Government operated facility in Nassau County and New York City.

Contact Team

The primary mission of the Contact Team  is to constantly monitor and analyze the District's training posture, develop viable training plans to meet those needs and then implement them.

Fiscal Section

The primary mission of the Fiscal Branch is to provide financial guidance and training, to report and project spending and to distribute District funds in order to maximize the District's effectiveness and minimize fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement.  The Fiscal branch also provides civilian personnel support and guidance to employees and supervisors within the District.

Public Affairs Branch

The primary mission of the Public Affairs Branch is to provide a link between Marines and the public and must facilitate the instantaneous flow of information that is generated through the 24-hour news cycle, the Internet and cellular communications. Public Affairs Marines must be trained equipped and postured to serve the Force Commanders, as they execute their duties in keeping Marines and the American people informed of what is happening on the battlefield as well as aboard Marine Corps bases. To accomplish their mission, PA Marines must have a sound understanding of the organization, tactics and equipment used in war and other conflicts. They must be ingrained within the Commander's battle staff and must train side-by-side with the war-fighting units. In peacetime and in war, the PA mission is to tell America's citizens what their Marines are doing.
